Wink Confessions of a man obsessed.

I updated my profile today. This is something I haven't done since I got my '97 TJ. That was a little over two years ago. I'd been meaning to but, what with all the mods that needed do'in, I'd just not made the time. Well after a little data entry, picture uploading, and self reflection, I've come to the conclusion that I must be obsessed.
In the time I've had this thing I've swapped out the tranny and rear brakes, lifted it, added a CV drive shaft, added air conditioning, added a soft top, and replaced or refurbished virtually every single system component you can think of. Because of my endeavors my friends think I'm nuts and my wife has threatened to leave me on more than one occasion. In my mod-fueled frenzy I've convinced myself that friends are overrated and as far as the wife goes, well 25 years is a pretty good run.
At least my son gets it. He's the reason it looks like an army jeep and he tells me there's no way I can ever sell it. I just smile and think to myself that he's right. No one would ever be willing to pay even half of what I've got in it.
The good news is I'm just about finished. I've just got one or two things left I want to try . . .
I guess that's why they say: It's a Jeep thing.

I have been going non stop on my Jeep for the past year. My girlfriend laughs each time I say I'm almost done. Then I find 18 more things to do to the Jeep. She supports me and says its a good hobby to have and that everyone needs something to enjoy. I'm afraid to marry her for fear that opinion will change.

Now that's dedication! (to your Jeep of course)

I kid around about it but I'm actually very lucky. My wife's pretty tolerant considering. As Jay Leno put it: My wife would rather I come in the house smelling like transmission fluid than cheap perfume.

Well you don't want to make the wife mad. I'd hold off on looking at that if I were you. Now where, exactly, did you say this Jeep's at?

LMAO...I was JUST driving home from doing some errands and realized that Monday, I will start driving my jeep for work and putting miles on him (yes it's a him!) doing a postal route. I felt a pain in my heart. REALLY! And then the this thought popped into my head "I'll save up some money and buy a 2nd jeep, keep this as a DD/work vehicle and use the other for fun"...it was THEN that I realized, I've come down with that 'Jeep Thing' they talk about....

This will be the last year I give my wife projects I will do for her for her Bday. She says you always find time to do Jeep things as soon as they come up but you never have time for my projects. Well in the last two days ive ordered zone 4.25"lift, softoppers frameless sailcloth top, adjustable track bar and a Poison Spyder BFH front bumper w/Brawler bar. I have to say that ive stood by the name Jeep
Justified
Each &
Every
Purchase

Only two more major purchase to go and ill be happy for ..... well ill be happy till the next mod.
Got to go pick up the 33x12.50w/15x10 rims and the winch. The winch can wait most likely. Hell it has to

There's a good reason opposites attract. It's called financial stability.
Try explaining this in bankruptcy court:
"Well your honor, I had every intention of making the house payment but I found this Old Man Emu suspension lift on Craigslist that I'd have been crazy to pass up . . ."
