Convert auto TJ to column shift?
I have a bit of an odd question that I don't think has come up before. I have a '97 Auto TJ in the UK (so RHD). I viewed an auto YJ before buying this one and the only thing I preferred about the YJ was that it had a column shift for the auto. Column shifters are pretty rare in Europe as almost all autos have a floor shifter. I really like the idea of the column shifter as I think it makes the centre console clearer and less cluttered, and it just feels more rugged and jeep-like to me.
That wasn't enough to sell me on the YJ due to it's condition and other factors, but I was wondering if there is any way to convert my TJ to column shift?
Have found a few posts on the YJ forum about converting them to floor shifts, which seems possible, so I wondered if anyone has gone the other way on the TJ and whether any kits and/or instructions are around to do this?
