Angry Coolant Leak

Hello Everyone.

Two days ago, after a driving from northeast Texas down to Houston (approx 4 hrs)I noticed that my coolant seemed to bubble in my reservoir. After allowing the temperature to settle, I purchased and changed the radiator cap. This morning after driving a short distance to work I've noticed that there is a very significant, obvious coolant leak but I cannot pinpoint where it is comming from. I've recently replaced the water pump, but after carefully looking at the hoses I'm afraid that the water pump may be the culprit. I will do a more thorough inspectio of the hoses before making this diagnosis,however... Although time consuming and tiresome, the water pump isn't my biggest fear so much as a gasket being blown. Having said that, should I have to replace a water pump within less than a year if it were purchased brand new? What are the odds of one going bad in such a short lenght of time? The leak occurs when driving, which tells me that it is pressure mediated. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Brent

Make sure a hose clamp isn't the culprit, and of course the obvious bad hose. A water pump won't usually fail that soon out of the box, can't say it won't happen, but not usually.

I'd bet it's a hose, clamp or boogered up gasket for the water pump. You probably don't have a head gasket problem, that would have extra symptoms.
