cooling system pressure?

Does the cooling system pressurize on Wranglers like a regular cooling system? Reason I ask, I came home last night and was checking under the hood and my upper hose wasn't hard and was somewhere between hot/warm (able to touch). Coolant levels looked normal in the tank and radiator (after it was cooler). I had just ran the Jeep about 35 highway miles, operating temps around 210, even after coming off highway. I checked within less than 5 min of turning the Jeep off. System is tight with no leaks and coolant is clean.

I am used to the hoses being near rock hard until the system cools off, but I am learning that Wranglers tend to operate a bit differently than other vehicles. I've had my Wrangler since this past Wed so some of the quirks are still new to me. Familiar to Jeeps but new to Wranglers.

Mine is the same way. Just make sure you have the radiator topped off as a lack of coolant can cause problems as you can imagine. The pressure cap is a stock 18 psi, but I do not think my system has ever seen that pressure.

The system runs the same as any automotive coolant system. If the temp is normal (210) it is fine. The system runs up to 18 PSI (radiator cap rating)
2003 TJ, 33" BFG AT, 2" BL, 2" BDS spring lift, Truck Lite headlights, Homemade sunrider top.

Okay, thanks. I guess I am just used to my WJ with the same motor. Thought they would operate the same.
