Corbeau Seats

Hey all,

My Driver's seat is starting to fall apart and I came across the Corbeau baja SS suspension seats. They seem to be fairly cheap for the pair. I was curious if anyone has these and what you think of them. Also, they say that the seat needs special brackets. Has anyone modified the stock bracket to fit these seats? Not only would it save a few hundred dollars, but it would also allow me to use the tilt if I decide to put the back seat in the jeep? Lastly, I thought Ive read about a bar or something behind the seat? Maybe something that attaches to the seat? Please shed some light on these seats and installation ideas. Thanks again guys.

Ya my biggest concern is fastening them in. I am curious if I can modify the stock brackets to accept these seats...if not the brackets for them will cost me another couple hundred dollars, and Id rather not go that route

Oh nice, I would have to buy a whole new bracket from what I saw. One of these days I may just order the seats and if I cant make them fit, I will just hold off til I can afford new brackets. Theres gotta be a way to fab up some kind of mount.

yea but dont you think you could just fab up your own adapter to use the stock tj brackets? To me it seems like they dont want to amke an adapter to go to the stock brackets just because they want to make more money.

Sorry, thats what I meant. I meant there is probably some way I could fab something that fit with my stock bracket. I would just have to see how the seats are meant to attach.

yea i hear ya...this is off topic but how do you like the mce flatties. My jeep has a rust hole on the top of a fender. The same fender is off a few shades of green and the othersides flare is bent. So I'm debating on ordering them tomorrow.

I am happy with them. They faded a tiny bit on top, but not anything you can do about that. I can just paint them if it gets too bad. As far as the fender itself, Im very happy with the outcome of them.

I dunno if that would work or not. I would think it would since it does on flares but who knows. I actually just checked out their site, and the YJ fenders are out of stock and they will put you on a waiting list. But I also just read that they are going to be making them with a UV resistant coating mixed into the mold to help prevent fading.

My buddy has those in his TJ. For a daily driver a fixed back seat would be a pain in the ass. The side bolsters are really tall, making it more difficult to get in and out of. I personally like the RS seats which are reclinable.

They're nice seats. They definitely hold you in. For me though, they lack enough lower back/lumbar support.

The bar you were talking about sounds like a harness bar. If you were to run harnesses, you would need a bar running behind the seats, about shoulder height, to connect the shoulder restraints to.

Quadratec's pricing is for a pair of front seats. The site you listed is individual seats.

That is about the same price as quadratec if you think about it. Quadratec ranged anywhere from 320-400 dollars for TWO seats. Your link looks like seats start at 180 PER seat

This is kind of an old thread. I have already purchased the SS seats and have actually been pretty happy with them. No issue for me personally having a fixed back. The sides are high so you gotta put a little effort in getting in lol. Over all very pleased with them and very comfortable. No harnesses yet, but one of these days. Thanks for you input.
