couple of exhaust questions.

They may be dumb questions but I'm going to ask either way. I'm looking at getting a cat back system and I was wondering if I NEED to get a new cat converter? Also is it worth getting headers at the same time?

No such thing as a dumb question. Dumb is asking why, after you do something.

What are you looking for, performance or noise?

Better exhaust flow is a good thing. Umm a header and cat back isn't going to do a lot if the cat you have is a smaller diameter pipe.

If it's just noise you want, yep the right cat back system alone will change that one.

I hear ya. I wanna do a header back system eventually but right now I'm not looking for a jump in performance. I've had my eye on the banks monster exhaust. What do you think?

Honestly I've got no experience with the Bank's system.
I like Flowmaster myself

Use the search function here to see what others are using.

Love my Flowmaster. It took a hundred miles or so for the sound to mellow out but I love it.

X2 on the flowmaster. Put the 40 series on mine and love it. Turn down after muffler.

I just did the whole thing but the cat should fit but why go thru the headache of changing it in a couple of years. GET THE HEADER

I have the Flowmaster with a high flow cat-as much of a difference as I heard with just the Flowmaster the high flow cat made a big difference also.

I have considered changing the header pipe but the general opinion around the forum is that the factory header pipe is as good as MOST replacements. Right now I am of the opinion since it is not broke I won't fix it.

Just put my banks monster cat back on today and it sounds really good. Not too loud or ricey. I'm really happy with it
