I'm new to the forums and had a couple of questions. I am looking at getting some aftermarket items for my jeep and wondered where the best place to get some wheels and tires.
I saw on ebay that they have 2" lift spacers, has anyone used these to get the extra 2", and are they worth getting?
Wheels and tires I usually go local to avoid shipping. Someitmes you can get a good package deal from 4 wheel parts or others though.
The 2" spacer lift (aka budget boost) doesn't improve performance as much as longer coils but they can help you with clearance for flex or larger tires. They are worth it due to the low price however. You will need longer shocks to go with them.
I don't like to make recomendations on shocks but if I had to I would probably say OME. Everyone's ride tastes are different - some prefer stiff performance others prefer a soft ride. I'll let others chime in on what is a good shock for a BB without being too much $$.
with the bb you get what you pay for. if you are wanting to keep close to the stock ride quality of your jeep i would steer clear of a bb. even with some good OME shocks it will still ride harder and stiffer due to the fact that you are compressing your springs by adding spacers. time and time again i wish i had been patient enough to save a little more cash and go with new springs and a decent shock. however if you must get that little bit of extra space right away make sure and get a quality shock. (STAY AWAY from skycrapper!!!) i am sure that some will have a different opinion but the ones who know their stuff on here will tell you not to get something that you will just have to replace a little bit down the road. if you follow that rule you will save a lot of time and money and have a better setup in the long run. sorry for the long reply but thats just my .02cents worth...
Yeah thanks guys.... Just making sure but does bb mean budget build lol? Yeah I think as of right now I will get the lift and a good set of shocks. I would like it to be more stiff.... Now as for rims and tires I have no idea. I want to do some off roading (we dont have many places to wheel in NE Indiana) so i dont need extreme wheels lol...... Thanks again everyone
again, it depends what kind of wheeling you will be doing. some say that you can fit 32's with only a 2" BB. this is true but the first time you get off the pavement you will find that they rub like crazy. i would go with some 31X10.50's if you plan on going wheelin at all. if your just gunna stay on the pavement then you could go with the 32's maybe...
For wheels I like the black steel wheels and they are cheep.

like stated above, its all in what type of driving you plan on doing. if your gunna go wheelin often then i think you would have better results from a 31 but if your gunna stay on the road mostly then you could try the 32's. like debru said, you could always throw on a 1"bl if they rubbed.
its understandable, with all the info you have to filter it can leave you kinda dizzy sometimes. just make sure you do what YOU wanna do with the jeep. if you really want the 32's then go for it, just be prepared to spend a little extra for a body lift for the extra space. if so JKS 1.25bl is like $70.00 at northridge4x4 and is a breeze to put on...
Yeah i dont really like the BL's. But with that small of a lift it might not leave that much of a gap that you can see. I plan on doing some off roading but not alot. There isnt many places around where I live to go but I will find places eventually.. So I think I might go with the 32's should I get 11.50's? Also what would be a good aggresive tire that will have good normal driving but good offroad capabilities?
yeah, i would go with 11.50's. as for the tire there are endless options to go with. i have never run them but i keep hearing great things about the new mickey thompson mtz's. i have the maxxis buckshot mudders and love them as well. but i would just pick a few that i liked and narrow it down by reviews from people that have actually run the tire (not by websites) i, like you, never cared much for a bl, but i just installed mine and love the little bit of extra clearance i got from it. allows for a ton more flex before rubbing! and with it only being 1.25'' i have gotten used to the small gap it made.
