I have a 97 NO-AC Tj, so of course no condenser in front of the radiator to absorb some of the wind.
It has been below freezing for the last few days here in NY, and the Jeep takes a while to get upto running temp and it never really gets upto 210*. At idle it will get upto 190-200, but while driving it will stay at 170-180ish.
I just replaced the thermostat yest with a Stannt 195* (thinking mine was stuck open) but that wasn't the case. Still the same thing.
This isnt REALLY a problem but i'd like to have it runnig at the recomended temps - 205-210.
Now for my question:
Anyone have any cool/easy/cheap ideas what to put in front of the radiator?
I had a cardboard box in there but it looks
and it doesnt let ANY air through so at idle the temps did exceed 210.
I was thinking a heavy duty air filter for an in house AC, or a thick net of some sort. Something that it also fairly easy to remove.
What have you guys done before?
Any good ideas or suggestions?
