After my install of the 3 inch zone lift, while I drove it up onto the alignment machine, 2 trustworthy mechanics told me just by listening to my jeep drive the exhaust manifold was cracked, once lifted up we crawled under it and sure enough, it is. My question is how much should I be paying for one of these? Which kind or brand does everyone prefer? How difficult is the removal and install, and are there any tricks to it? Sorry, lots of questions, im not too knowledgable of exhausts, and thanks in advance for anyone willing to help out!!!

Buy one off eBay or I got mine from 1AAUTO a few years ago because shipping to Hawaii was cheaper. My kid just replaced his last month and I think he got his off Amazon. Should be anywhere from $90-$120 for one depending on where you buy it. I used a writeup from Daily Driven TJ and it took me about 4 hours taking my time. Heres a link. http://www.dailydriventj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=847

I foumd one on ebay new for 80 bucks free shippimg, this was where the shop recommended I look bexause the ends of it are like rubber or somethimg so they can flex and not break like the stock one. Only thing I was concerned about was it was for a cj, yj, and tj... like I said im not too knowledgable on exhaust but do all three models have the same exhaust manifold? Ill try to post up a link for you and anyone else to get a better idea of the one I found, and thanks for that writeup, will definately be usimg that.

I just replaced my cracked exhaust manifold with a header and a week later replaced my cracked intake manifold. Jeep is much quieter now.

Check engine light popped on afterwards and showed #6 misfire. popped again, reset and tightened up the bolts ran a week no light. Pulled to replace gasket and discovered the crack in the intake manifold.

I definately will be doing it myself so thats good to hear its an easy install. 10 or 12 bolts. Idk exactly what they heard, just said it was louder than it should be and air is getting inside when I let off gas and could be a big problem if im in a creek or something. He asked if I heard a lot of engine noise in the cab, I do and I said yes and he said yep, exhaust manifold. And it should be quiter after I put a new one in

No worries man! New information never hurts.. I just need to get on this exhaust manifold relatively soon, I jut need to do a bit more research and get the right thing. Worst thing ever is when you order a part, wait all week, get so excited when it arrives only to find out its the wrong part...

Ok so im finally getting around to doing my exhaust manifold. Was thinking of buying a new one and doing myself but really not interested after i read a few write ups haha. At my local exhaust shop they said they could pull the manifold off and repair it and put a new gasket on in one day for 240. Is this a good deal? Will the repair hold up?
