crawl ratio

I dont get to play around in 4lo all that much and wasn't curious enough until now. I looked up my crawl ratio for my 97 tj sport and its 31:1. (4.0, 5 spd, 3.07 rear) What kind of terrain/ small obstacles can the jeep make it over without any/very little throttle? Like i said I havent offroaded it much since its my DD but I get to play in lots of snow up here in upstate NY.

Best thing is to go try some stuff so you'll know! Just in case... Hard to tell you exactly on here

It'll crawl up more stuff than you would expect. In deep snow, a low crawl ratio is no hindrance at all since more wheel speed, not less like a high crawl ratio gives, is the usual need.

I'll have to try her out on some of the nice grassy hills/ dirt roads around my house. I dont want to tackle anything to extreme because she does have quite a bit of rust underneath ( thanks NY state salt). The jeep is an absolute riot to drive in the snow, whenever the news says a good snow storm is on its way I go out for little joy rides before the plows get to work. Other drivers will be white knuckling the steering wheel and Il go by em with a big grin and the Jeep almost sideways
