Cool Cruise Control Part# 82209481 discontinued

FYI: To everyone who is looking to install cruise control on their TJ and have been told that the part number 82209481 was discontinued, I have a solution!
The part number referenced above is for the cruise control KIT! This kit consists of several different parts that have their own part numbers which I have listed below. I was led to believe from several sources, (including the local dealer!) that I could not have cruise control because the item was discontinued by Mopar, but this was wrong/false/a lie!

After reviewing the PDF of the official parts list for my model year and the installation instructions for the discontinued kit, I was able to piece together everything that is needed to install cruise control, AKA speed control. It is original, OEM Mopar parts, NOT AFTERMARKET!

Buyer beware: Jeepsareus.com is selling this "kit" and claiming they are the only way to get what you need for cruise control. They are selling it for $259.95 if your Jeep is "pre-wired", and for an extra $300.00 (!) they'll sell you the wiring if yours isn't! Don't be fooled! I got the wiring for about $40!! And all the parts that made up the kit totalled only $172.37 when I bought them separately!

Feel free to PM me if you would like to know where I purchased my parts from.

Steering Wheel buttons: RT-56042310AD/LT-56042311AD
Servo Bracket: 52109523AB
Clip (cable to servo): 6025867
Servo: 4669979
Harness-speed control vacuum: 52109525AD
OPTIONAL, IF NEEDED: Speed Control Cable: 52109524AD

I am trying to do the same thing as well with my 2003 Wrangler. This is my second Wrangler to own and love it! My model was not pre-wired, why? I have now idea!! I have read that there may have been a shortage of wiring harnesses at that particular time but who knows! Ha! I saw where Jeepsareus is selling the kit but it's too pricey when you have to figure in the extra $300 bucks for the wiring harness. If you don't mind, where did you purchase your parts? Thanks in advanced!!!

2003 Wrangler X, Manual tranny.

I would prefer if you PM me for the info because I don't want to seem like I'm advertising, like some people do for companies. I'm just a regular girl that found an honest company & I want to share that info.

I ordered the part# listed as the optional wiring, and it was the servo throttle cable. I just wanted to clarify this for other forum members. Crabbyjeep is right that the other parts are still available much cheaper than jeeps are us has them, and they seem to be the correct P/N. But, still no wiring harnesses are available that I could find.

I never got a reply. Does anyone know the place that these parts were ordered from? I'm commuting and dying without cruise control.

Are these all the dealer part numbers?

I work for a Chrysler dealership so I can get them at a discounted price...

For those of you who don't have a good source for dealer parts, try this site out...I use them a lot...sometimes their prices beat my employee discount.

Yes those are all dealer part numbers. If you order them all from a dealer, MSRP would be 303.90 if you can get at dealer cost then your still looking 176.50.

I've done my best on research for the wiring overlay. I found out that TJ models from 2003 - 2004 wiring harness was source from an alternate supplier. These did not contain the under hood wiring need for the cruise control servo. My TJ has the right clock spring, I was able to find a servo with a bracket and talked the seller into trading my blanks for the switches. After reading Junkyards post on building my own overlay wiring, I was read to source a OEM connector for the servo. No luck. No u-pull it yards have it. Harness on eBay, sellers don't have it or don't know. Researched every website just for the overlay and just are friends at jeepsareus have all the stock. Does anyone have suggestions, 98- 04 wiring overlay are compatible across TJ models?
