Currie Steering Currectlync??

I installed this today on my Rubi first off the kit was real nice and a huge visual improvement over my old steering. Couple of questions. The steering is now very tight I guess it should be this way? Feels almost too tight? has anyone here felt this? Other than that It really has good steering response. also it does not seem to want to come back to center when coming out of a turn almost like manual steering? Thanks for any input.

RTC isn't related to the steering linkage so that's just a coincidence.

As for tight steering, would you rather have the alternative? That's what you get with big, new TRE's and solid, unflexible linkages.

It's not supposed to turn or move easily....at all....that cotter hole will end up where it ends up. That's the sign of a good TRE. The only thing I can think of is you overgreased it.....have you greased it or not? The tolerances are too tight in Currie TRE's to pump more than an initial squirt into them. Otherwise instead of the grease pumping through the joint and out, it'll just blow the socket.

Yes, after installing mine, the steering was much tighter and I love it.

According to the instructions in the box. The TR has a groove in them that allows grease to pass If grease does not pass ROTATE the rod end around until the grease groove opens up as shown in pic #3. You rotate thru the bottom of the TR where it is not threaded or stick a small screw driver thru the cotter hole. I could rotate the other ones they were hard but they rotated? I finially got the passenger side to rotate after I ate my wheaties.lol.. I did that put one pump of grease and did a toe in alignment it is now nice and firm not extreamly tight. Will take out tomorrow for some test riding before my 35s arrive on Monday.
