Yep and your not going to see the 160 on the TJ either. What is that pic of Trip???
Thats a pic of the Mazda Miata gauges. They are aftermarket similar to the mclaren F1 gauges. From memory the stock one is up to 150 which is not much for turbo miatas. Anyhow though I love how every line is very thin and precise.
I'd go with something like carbon fiber overlay if i want to change the overlays. The white is way too bright especially since their numbers are also white while the red or yellow just looks ricey. If not then i'd only go with the brushed aluminum.
when u install the blue lights the numbers and needles are blue and i think that the white would look good with the blue lights and the brushed aluminum bezel
My main problem with their white design is the numbers are also white and outlined in black which makes them look way too bulky. Instead of the numbers looking precise, they look like a kids art project. Also i think it would look like just bunch of things put together that dont line up and the line where they dont line up is a very bold line. A brushed aluminum outside, a bright white overlay that looks like a kids art project, and at last the bottom black layer with the darkened lights.
Take a look how the fuel and volt gauge are cut out here, now take a look at what the brushed aluminum covers. They seem like they are not really made to go together because this leaves huge uneven gaps between eachother.
Ordered the blue LEDs on Friday, received them today.
Replacing the bulbs is nothing. Very easy. 11 screws total. 2 for the knee bezel. 5 screws for the 'rain shroud' around the cluster. 4 screws for the cluster itself.
Total time to completion was approximately 30 minutes start to finish. If you do this quick mod, make sure you clean all the parts well. I have a 2000 TJ Sport and there was a good deal of build up of dirt and even a spider web. I knew it would be a long time before I removed the cluster again, so do yourself a favor. I had to reverse 3 of the 5 LEDs because the polarity was backwards when I first tested it. I used a beach towel to cover the bezel and myself to be able to see if it was lit correctly. After completion, even in the sunlight, under the towel, it look very nice. I can't wait till tonight to see it in the dark.
Thanks for the OP for the idea.
