Custom thrid brake light

So I know other people have had this delima. They get their new rear bumper and tire carrier and are really excited, but it doesn't have a third brake light and you have to take the stock one off. Out here in California, it's the law to have one. I couldn't find any aftermarket ones that I liked. The only ones I could find were the ones that go into the lug nut holes on your spare tire or the one that goes in the middle of the spare tire. My tire swing swings all the way out until the tire hits the side of the car, so I didn't want either of those because there would be way too much wire just hangin around when it was closed. So I made this! It wasn't hard, but it was my first time welding, but I think I did a good job. I got the light off of ebay for $15 new.

Doesn't look too bad. Is it waterproof?
Looks like one that's supposed to mount inside, so it might be a good idea to add some silicone around the seam.

Yes, it's waterproof, but thanks for your concern.

Thanks guys! It was my first time ever welding as I said and I loved it! I'm only 17, so hopefully I will be able to get one in the future.Used a MIG welder and then grinded them down a little and it looks great. I have shown a few of my friends at school and they think that I bought it.

Very nice work, install some endcaps on that square tube, tie some zip ties around that flex conduit and you'll be done. Laters,
