Nope. I just did some checking before I started. If you get pulled, you can get nailed for flares not providing full tread coverage too. Depends on if the Nice Officer is haveing a bad day or not. Check it out here - Oregon Lift Laws | Vehicle Modification Rules

Yep I had a State trooper pull me over for not having my windshield lights covered and informed me that my fenders needed to cover to the outside edge of my tread. Gave me a warning and sent me on my way.

DONE! SOOOOO kick a$$! I wound up using an angle grinder with a thin metal cutting disc. Bought an 8 ft pack of edge trim and wound up a few inches short (story of my life) So 2 packs of edge trim for $16 bucks and a couple hours later, DONE! I love it. Thanks for the write ups and pics!!!

Hey Beer. What happened to your original stock flairs? I have a Sahara..and thinking about this, but mine are color coded.

Grateful, my stock flairs ate it when I crumbled the front left fender and dang near ripped my head off by bashing the drivers side windshield post hahaa You can tell by looking at my front turn signals that I have made some boo-boo's off-road. They look like that after a lot of hammering and "custom" work. hahaa.

I got the black OEM's used and have never liked the way they looked, until I chopped them.

I agree. I saw this tread and thought people were cutting their fenders, not the plastic flares.
I cut mine but added the MCE Gen I flatties to them. I think they look much better than just hacking up the flares, then again I live in a state where tire coverage is not a big deal.

Yes! Do it. Just start hacking. It's only that first inch that hurts.

Does it come with an adhesive strip or do you glue it on & where do you get it at Auto-zone, or Wally world?

i used the u-molding as well. it has adhesive
down the middle of it. think of it like a big
long taco, with adhesive where the meat and
cheese would be. then you just push it on.

Thanks, I did a search online and found out there's a trillion different types, colors & sizes. would someone narrow it down and tell me which one "Ipath68" used?

TJNewbie. I just put on the same stuff he used from O'Reilly's. Here it is. The box it comes in for $8 isn't quite enough to do the 4th fender...or at least it wasn't for me.

Sorry dude, but I had to laugh at that. I can't count the times I'm done a project to come up a couple inches short, having me to buy a bunch more that I won't need.

Couple inches short...the story of my life

Maverick,

Just get your tape lines right and the rest is cake! I used a 4.5" metal thin cutoff disc on a dewalt angle grinder and it went through that plastic like hot butter. Have at it!

I think I'll get some door trim for my cut flares.
I think it would look more like they're supposed to be that way.
I was always sketical how well it would stay on but what the heck, I'll get it now.
