Cutting TJ flares and need input

So I am thinking of cutting my flares as many have done but I've got a dilemma and not sure how to handle it. I have a Sahara, so my flares are a painted tan color. I was thinking if I cut them that I might just paint them with Rusto black bed liner afterwards. I just think it would look odd to keep them painted tan and then add a black trim to the edge for protection. Then I am not sure what to do about that little flare piece that sits at the base of the tub right behind the front fender. Again, it is currently tan and for the time being I don't have the option of removing it and exposing the body holes. Soooo, should I just keep that tan or spray it as well with the black bed-liner since the flares would be bed-lined as well??? Thanks for any input

I cut my off as well. The 1st time i hit the trails one of the door trim sections came off the fender. I replaced it. The next time out another came off. I ended up just taking them all off. I didnt pait the fenders or anything. I just cleaned up my cut and left the cut showing and it lookg fine.
