D35 to D44 (newb)

Is it possible to buy the "guts" of a D44 to put inside my current D35? Or would I just be better off buying a D44 outright?

The guts wont transfer, the carriers are different sizes, the axles are different widths and splines, it wont work at all as far as i know. You can buy axleshaft upgrades for the dana 35 that includes the matching carrier for the larger spline, but they are expensive and you are still left with a c-clip axle and weak tubes. A lot of people do the 8.8 axle upgrade but I stuck with the 44 until i can build my rear d60 from scatch
