All TJ Dana 35 and TJ Dana 44 axles look like those in the above photos. Caution that the previous owner might have replaced a Dana 35's OE differential cover with an aftermarket differential cover with a steel drain plug. A Dana 35 axle's differential cover has a very smooth oval shaped outline.

No. The shape will be like the pictures, but aftermarket dif covers are common for all axles. Most all have a metal plug.

I guess I need to look again. Not aftermarket diff cover for sure. It's a 94 yj. And PO told me that both axels were replaced. But didn't know anything about them I might actually already have 44 in the rear Can't wait to get home and look now
