dana 30 front

ok, before i do something dumb.......i'm taking out a dana 30 low pinion(3.55 standard rotation) out of my tj. i want to put in a dana 30 high pinion reverse rotation. its got 3.55's in it now but i am going to get the 3.73 carrier to fit 4.11's. the high pinion is out of a 97 cherokee. i was told the reverse rotation has nothing to do with the way the drive shaft turns but i want to be sure. don't want one axle going one way and the other axle another way. finished product should be a dana 30 HP reverse rotation with 4.11's. i seen several sites doing this swap but they don't say anything about swapping reverse rotation gears for standard when gutting out the axle. is everyone confused yet? give me your thoughts.....

it will work.
but when you install a new axle, why don´t you install a stronger one?

btw. the YJ D30 has a vaccum disconnect.

A HP D30 is stronger than a LP D30 since the gears are running on their stronger side with a reverse cut gear axle than it is on the TJ's standard cut gear D30. Lots of rock crawlers are doing just fine with their HP D30 axles taken out of an XJ. And nicolas-eric, he's not using a YJ D30, his is coming out of an XJ so it doesn't have that troublesome vacuum actuated axle disconnect that the YJ has.

Yes it is a bolt-in swap and the gearing will all turn in the right direction.

certain ones have the vacuum. the replacement axle is identical to the stock one except for the high pinion. i am repairing my wrecked vehicle at this time (not my fault!!!) and i never had axle problems to need to upgrade. i haven't built my true wheeling jeep yet....but soon.
