A Dana 44 looks like this:

Dana 44s have steel filler plugs while 35s have a rubber plug.

Edit only lasts for a certain amount of time.

Easiest way is to crawl under the Jeep and feel the fill plug. If its rubber: D35, metal: Dana44

hey kotiktj, you can also use the following website:http://www-5.jeep.com/wccsapp/univer...ull&category=U, no where near as fun as going under you jeep and checking (which I would recommend you do as well). The website is the contact Jeep website, through in your VIN and say you want your original build sheet. In a couple of days they'll get back to you with everything that your jeep came with from the factory, including which axles you have.

BTW, welcome to the forum and enjoy being infected by the Jeep bug

If you find a Dana 30 in the back of your rig you've more troubles than the drain plug.

Yeah, they put the D30 in the rear for everyone who checked the "all wheel steering" box when they ordered their Jeep!!!!
