dash lights/dimmer issue

So ever since i bought my 97 wrangler a few months ago my headlights/dimmer switch are a little funky. When i turn the dimmer switch all the way up (as bright as they can go) they go out so for them to be on i have to turn them slightly down. Also after a long ride, about 20 mins lets say my dash lights and my headlights fill start to flicker until i start wiggling and messing with the switch. I did some research and my guess would be to try a new headlight switch, any other ideas before i go drop $35 on it?

Switch sounds like the issue. Mine had dimmer issues along with the headlights not working before I replaced. I got the switch for $20 delivered from rockauto.

Violence may not be the answer but it sure cuts down on the stupid questions

I haven't had it in my 97 (yet) but did have the exact same thing happen when I had my 77 Dodge Power Wagon. Good old Mopar light switches.
