Daystar Rock Krusher Rear Bumper and Tire Swing

Any experience or opinions on this tire carrier and bumper:

I really like the way this one looks but I don't want to trade functionality for looks. Cost is a factor too. I'd like to get something under $500.

Also, as far as "recovery points" go, what qualifies?

Where can you get that for under $500??? I've seen the bumper for like $200 and the carrier part separate for like $500 it's self... I'd go for it if you can for $500. The only thing I don't like about it(seen in person) is that the bottom tube hangs down really low and can drag on stuff.

I had this combo for a year and a half and it's not worth buying! Save your money. It'll hold a 33" tire but the way the spindle is designed it will over time rip the bumper off of the frame of your rig from the weight of the tire. The bumper does come with frame tie pieces however there is no backing plate for the bolts to support the bumper itself. The latching mechanism is a joke, just a pin. If anyone wants a free tire carrier and bumper let me know (nope won't do shipping) and come pick it up. You'd be better off getting the combo from RockHard4x4 as that's a solid bumper/tire carrier combo and I couldn't be happier. Here's some photos:

I've got just the bumper on mine and it has been working out great. It looks like it is not quite as reliable with the tire carrier though. The bottom tube does hang down a little more than planned. I've whacked it GOOD a couple of times but in retrospect it saved that part of my gas tank!

Thanks for the info! I'll avoid this one.
