Dead Jeep

I need some help, driving down the road today my jeep just quit running, nothing leading up to it just suddenly died after running fine. It will turn over a couple times each try but will never start. The clutch now feels different, being loose up top but extremely hard as it gets closer to the floor. I was wondering if anyone else has had smilar problems or knows what could be wrong.

Sounds like my finicky crank position sensor. Sudden death, yes. Turns over fine, yes. Never starts, yes. Mine's an auto, so cannot comment on the clutch. Check the harness connection first. It resides on the housing of the tranny, and the pigtail attaches behind the engine by the firewall (on my '99). CG
