Debating, YJ or TJ

I Have never owned a jeep, but I want one really bad. I have the intentions of building it, and also take it camping and adventurous activities. But I don't know which one would be best to start out with, I really like the TJ for the reason of the dashboard. I don't like the old YJ but it's only in that area. I need some feed back in the differences also...

I currently have a yj and had a tj in 97 when it first came out. The tj rides a lot better due to the coil spring suspension and the soft top was easier to put down also the back seat was a little wider. There was no aftermarket support back then like there is now That being said, I love my yj less electronics to deal with if you want to do an engine swap and a little bit cheaper to lift since it has leaf springs For a daily driver I'd go with a tj

If you plan to keep the jeep for a while, go with the TJ. Much nicer and more comfortable. But whatever you get, make sure to thoroughly check the frame for substantial rust. Especially in PA with all the road salt used in the winter, rust can be a major problem with older jeeps like the YJ.

go with tj, way more suspension travel. More flex is good. The more flex you have the more places you can go. Plus i think the square headlights are kinda ugly.
