Decided to check my tire psi, boy im glad i did

Hey what size tires are you guys running? What is the psi you have in them? I have 31's. The reason i ask, is because i checked mine the other-day. I had my back right at 47psi, back left at 42psi, fronts at 44psi. I never checked them from when they were installed. DOOUH! So i lowered them to 35psi. Then i read about the chaulk test. I did that tonight. Only the middle was wearing. So i lowered them untill i got a some-what even chaulk wear accross the tire= 27 1/2 pounds. Does this sound right? I believe i can even go lower. Also the drivers side tires seemed to need a little less air then the passenger side.?? Like 1 pound. The sticker on the door say's 29 psi for 30's.

when i got my 33's mounted and balanced they put 55 lbs in every tire. that's way too much. the sidewalls say 35, but i usually keep it closer to 30. it makes them wear more evenly and they ride better.

its amazing who they let in shops. but thats what you should expect from discount tire stores, sears, ntb, tires plus and all that.

at my shop we have good prices on tires, but the mounting and balancing is more than those idiot stores.....but there's qualified technicians doing the work.

i can't stand idiots anywhere near vehicles.
