Deciding between two lifts

I've got a '03 4.0 auto tranny totally stock right now. I want to run 33's and am trying to decide between either the 4" Zone or the 4" Series II kit by rough country.

Jeep TJ Suspension Lift
4" TJ Suspension System

Which of these kits would you go for? Which ever one I get I'll just do the xfer case drop for now and eventually get an SYE and CV driveshaft.

Any additional parts recommended with either of these kits?

Honestly neither. True they are both cheap, but neither are very good lifts. They will get you the height you want for tire clearance, but you will most likely sacrifice alot of ride quality. Try and save up some more for a better lift. Check out the lift review sticky for advice on what lift. Also, you stated you would drop the transfer case and do an SYE later. This won't necessarily work for a 4 inch lift. A t-case drop with a motor mount lift, might do the job, but it will require the installation of a body lift too.

Actually, the T-case drop with the 4" lift on a TJ will work just fine. Neither the MML or the SYE is needed with the 4" and you CAN wheel it with no problems as long as you don't any higher. I ran my TJ like that for two years until I swapped axles.

That's why I said necessarily. Every jeep is different, you never really know what will happen. Heck, i needed a t-case drop just from a 2.25 inch lift.

You got that right! Mine ran great with just the T-case drop until I put on the 8.8. I found out really quick that I had to get the SYE and new drive shaft and replace the dental work that vibrated out of my teeth.
