Deleting mini cats

Just curious. Is there any way to delete the mini cats without causing running problems? I will still run down stream cat.

The mini cats seem to go out too often. My LJ only has 54k miles.

i've got over 75k miles on my mini-cats...still working fine. just passed emissions at about 1/4 the state requirement.

as long as you stay on top of the O2 sensors, and make sure they don't go bad, your mini cats will survive just fine.

and yes there are ways to delete the mini-cats, but no kits. its all radio shack DIY stuff, illegal, can really screw with your computer & cause CEL and its not necessary unless you're going to run a turbo or something.

I also forgot to mention O2 sensors, all three cats, and all components of the emissions system are under warranty for 8 years & 80k miles from the date of original purchase. It's federal law.

I called the local dealer and they told me it wasn't. I guess I need to call another one.

drop EPA420-F-96-020 on the managers desk and tell them the morons at the front desk denied you warranty service against federal law. let him know you'll be filling a complaint with the local BBB.

The catch to the emission warranty is they don't test here in Louisiana. So I can't show them where it failed. Also I am suppose to show them maintaince records. I bought it used so I don't have those.

I guess I'm sol
