Detroit lockers

So I spent a winter in upstate NY with front and rear lockers, not so good. Want to go back to oem I guess, what's it take to change, and what will it help. Any detailed answer would be great.
Thanks

X2 my daughters has one in front only. It's coming out soon. There is no need for her to have one on a street queen.

That's what I thought. I think I'll just get a salvage front end and do a swap.

New or used carriers, spider gears,.shims, crossshafts, crossshaft retaining pin and an installation kit wouldn't hurt. Plus the ability to check the backlash once the parts are installed.
Dam, I'm looking for a good deal on a Detroit Locker for a front Dana 30 right now and here are two people looking to get rid of them!!!

I actually have a spare front Dana 30 axle I'm not using (parts are in excellent condition) , maybe we could work something out on the parts?? I'm in AZ so I couldn't ship the whole axle but I could set one of you up with the parts you'll need.
PM me if either of you are interested.

Sorry fellas, I'll just set mine in the shop and drop it in a trail rig I plan on starting for my boy next year.

Definitely approve of that! My dad wishes he was more mechanically inclined so he could enjoy my jeep as much as I do. I keep trying to convince him it's easy to work on but he knows it's my thing and lets it be my own outlet I guess. But we both enjoy riding in it on the way to fishing holes. Nothing better than father-son time.

Hey if you have a future use for it that's great, I just though I'd through the idea out there I figured I could save someone from having to source the parts.
