Did anything else go here as an option? Newb Question *pic*

Hey all, quick question. I am new to Jeeping and just picked up a TJ. Not a big deal, more just curiosity. Did anything else go where the ashtray/coin holder is in the pic below. Most I have seen have the ashtray/coin holder, but I thought I had seen somewhere something else there. May have just been an aftermarket thing, but did something go there as a factory option??

Thanks all

Later models had the passenger airbag cutoff switch there.

Gotcha, Thanks for the info guys. I thought I had seen something there, so that explains it. Is there no cut off switch on the later ones like the 04?

In the later models they mounted the switch in the spot just above that, but only TJs that did not come with a rear seat got the cut off switch.

Air bag cutoff (broken record right?) 2002. I can't say I've even ever touched it. Cause my insurance is gonna pay to repack em. Why do I care?

I don't think that's correct, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying.

I meant the later models of TJs 03 - 06. If they left the factory without the rear seat then it did have the switch, if it had a back seat then there was no switch.

The switch is in that lower spot refered to earlier in this post on the earlier model TJs.

Thanks that clears it up. I was trying to relate the passenger side airbag switch to the rear seat and couldn't see the connection.LOL

Its because if you dont have a rear seat when it leaves the factory you need to be able to cut your passenger air bag off for baby seats. Baby seats and air bags are a no no.

Svtyone: I agree with you. Newer model vehicles come equipped with switch in the seat on a pressure switch.

Yeah most newer vehicles do have weight limits. If I put a gallon of milk on my wifes cares seat it shuts it off. It knows its there but knows its not a grown up.
