diesel wrangler

I sooooo want to get rid of my 2.5 and pop in something like a 2.8L turbo diesel so i can create all kinds of torque and get better mileage than the 18mpg that i currently get. unfortunately im too poor to do that.

I heard of a company that will be offering a bolt in all inclusive conversion for the 2.8L diesel, so all you have to do is wait!

yeah the hemi is in the ram 1500 which is my daily driver and tow rig.. does a great job, but it has a hard time passing the gas station. The TJ at this point is for nice days and a trail rig.

Talking

well i was doing some looking into a oil burner for my previous vehicle i stumbled acrost the site fordcummins.com, why u might care is that they say on their site that they will be launching a website by name of jeepcummins.com, i do believe they will probably be putting a 3.9L Cummins 4bt (a 4 cylinder version of the 2valve per cylinder 6bt ie.. the old diesel dodge had in their trucks).... also in a search i found a jeep u might be interested in ... http://www.advancedframeworks.com/ca...rue_lildsl.php

edit: also if you look on fordcummins.coms site, and click on the link to turcks, scroll down to the bottom and there is a picture of a yj with a 4bt in it.

My 99 TJ Sport gets about 15 - 16 mpg on the freeway. I wish that I could get 18.

Don't feel bad boss my 4.0 on 35's gets about 10 so your doin pretty good.

And I have seen one of those diesel KJ's (Liberty). Walked up next to it running at IKEA. I said to the GF that sounded like a tough little ride. Then I noticed it was the jeep makin that noise. Hopefully won't be long and it might be an option in the Wrangler. Or at least we can keep our fingers crossed.

Jeep does put diesel engines in Wranglers

Jeep builds the new 2007 Wrangler with the CRD diesel engine. They build these in the USA but only sell them overseas!!! Just take a look at the Jeep website for the UK for all the details. I downloaded the technical data on the CRD Wrangler, and it stated that it got 35 miles to the gallon, but this is an Imperial gallon, so milage should be around 30 for the US gallon.
