Disco's

I have heard of people making there own disconnects pretty cheap. How is this done and how reliable is it? Does anyone have any pics?

i tried that. but after going on the highway very fast and with +80 mph for over 600 miles the bolts sheared off. i will buy some real discos in the futture.

really? in one trip? Jeepers. What kind of hardware did u use? Grade 8?

i just finished putting them on and drove it pretty fast. They seem to be ok. I guess time will tell.

No.......in Germany, they are grade 10.9 that is the metric equivalent......

Here's what I did.
You don't need to weld the washer on, but it will keep the pin from wearing out. Also use washers to make a tight fit so you don't get rattles.



Personally, I don't like the homemade discos and ended up just unbolting my sway bar each week we went crawling. With the lift and stock end links it was a pain to put them back on so....
Now I have some JKS quicker discos.

Ya i used three washers instead of two. Its a pretty tight fit and im not getting any rattles.
