DIY paint job

Tomorrow, I am going to sand out some rust and re paint it. I wanted to know if there was any paint that also had primer in it so I could paint it faster. I did find this:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=69495_0_0_

My baby is black which does help. Or should I do primer then paint?

Any good suggestions for paint?

Don't think there is any mix. Just get rattle can primer in black and black paint. Just take old paint of prime then paint. And don't try to spray to much.

Sand out rust... You gonna treat it also? Any rattle can paint you put over un treated rust is a complete waste of time. Hell any urethane paint you put over un treated rust is a major waste of time and money. Treat the rust.

Por-15 or something like that is the product you need. It treats the rust so it wont grow any more and than you can paibt on top of it

depending on what it is, I always use a grinder with a grinding disk, or wirebrush to take heavy rust off. If it is a body, i'd use sand paper, if its anything else as in chassis , or bumpers i'd use a grinder in a heart beat.

It's just light surface rust. Sand paper and a wire brush will help a ton. I always thought that primer will take care of the rust as long as the rust is sanded off.

On the tail gate, there are two blisters. Looks like the paint is bulging but I can't see any rust. Other than that, there is light rust on the bumper and on the side.

Nope. It needs to be neutralized with something first. If not it will just come right back

I was planning too. The rust is about 2 inches big.
