Exclamation Do I have funky half doors?

Hi all,

I'm new to the board and have had my 98' Wrangler Sport since last June. I love it, I love the Jeep way and really love the Jeep wave!
Anyway, it came with half doors, which I really enjoy -- especially this past summer --, but I think my upper doors are a bit off.
They have sliding glass windows and have three knobs that screw into the bottom half of the door to keep it secure. Nearly half of the door inserts have broken apart, and on my passenger side I only have one insert that still allows the knob to screw in. So, it's a pretty loose upper door on the passenger side. It is secure though -- it is snug when the door is closed -- but loose enough that it makes a bit nervous on the highway.
I haven't been able to find any door inserts with threads and it seems I have quite the oddity. I also can't find a manufacturer on my actual upper doors, either.
Any help would be appreciated.

Oh...and on a side note, I just got some best top quick release knuckles, but am having a hell of a time getting them to attach to the hook on the post for my top to go completely back up. Before hand, the bows were tucked underneath the lip of the railing on the body. Because of that, the back bar of the top was set higher than usual and stretched that way. That, along with the fact it's at freezing here, I'm having a tough time with it.

It sounds like you have the solid plastic uppers, like what we would sell with a hardtop.

The install guide for our version is here. You may have a competitors model, but I'm guessing they're similar.

The big trick is the nut insert on those door pins. They get damaged over time. You can buy new door inserts directly from Bestop, or your favorite bigger online retailer. No promises if they will work with your uppers, but I'm guessing they will.

I'm not following the problem with the quick release knuckles. They shouldn't have a big impact on where your bows fit.

Ha, no.... no cardboard here.
And Geoff, yes, I think what you are showing there are the type of door inserts I need.
Are those the only type of inserts you guys have? I just need to make sure they are threaded, and not factory sliders.

Oh, and as far as the bow knuckles.... success. It was just a two man effort to get the bows into position for me to snap the knuckles in. Like I said, it's been awhile since the top was stretched to the proper position.
