those are basically 31x10.5x15. on a stock jeep with stock rims you may need to add a washer to your steering stop, but other than that, they are a good size
I ran 31's on stock rims. Only rubbing I experienced was when I disconnected the front sway bar and stowed the bottom part on those tabs they give you to attach to those screws holding plastic sway bar cover in place.
But every jeep is different, as they say, so you'd be smart to check.
Darn it, I forgot to post a picture, I will do so tomorrow. My worry is not about the wheels rubbing against something while turning, it is about rubbing against the body/chassis when offroading during compression. Anyone know what was the original tire size for this Jeep?
You forgot my Jeeps original size tires 245/70(or 75 cant remember)/R16 I believe is what came factory on the Rubicons. Sposed to be 31x10:welcome::tomatoes::tomatoes::tomatoes: :tomatoes::tomatoes::tomatoes:
I had to travel for a couple of days, anyway, I am posting a couple of photos of said tires. They look big but fit the arches nicely. I saw a few other Jeeps this past weekend and a few had 235-70-15 tires on them :dunno:
So what size is ON your jeep 235 or 275? If the tires in the picture above are of the ones in question...they look fine.. and if anything small not big...
Open the drivers door and look for the sticker that will give you the tire info and gvw. Then go to tire rack and punch in some numbers to see what the sizes measure out to.
Keep in mind that if you stray too far in size change there are a few components that will be affected during the operation of the c...... D@MN almost caused another BBQ cat party....... Heep.
If you have not gotten the "Build Sheets," for your Jeep yet, I recommend doing so. Any Information you need concerning your Jeep, if it has not been modified, will be on those pages.
There is a thread for acquiring them on the Forum, or you can go to Chrysler/Jeep online and request them. There is no charge for them.
Yes, the JEEP has the 275-75-15 tires on now, they fill the wheel arches very nicely and they have a street tread pattern, so will probably be replaced once I have the funds. Jeep has approx 57,000 miles on the clock, other than the many scratches, appears to be in really good shape and I intend to keep it stock for the time being, I just want to get her back to her old glory days.
As for the mudguards, yes, they are the only ones I have seen on a TJ and they look good because they round off the rear fenders.
Also notice the rear fog light (which I still have to find the switch for), I guess this is what Jeeps that were made for export had as standard equipment. I believe that this truck was built during the ill-fated partnership with Daimler, not sure if that was a good or a bad thing?
