Do you think that this is a deal? and a few questions

I found a 2004 Rubicon with around 60,000 miles. 2 previous owners, no accidents.

Hard Top (I prefer soft, I would buy a soft top because I have no place to put the hard top if I take it off)
Leather Seats (I prefer cloth but o well)
Stock Tires (Which need to be changed)
and not much rust

All in total $16,000. Do you think that that is a good deal? (Because I will have to spend about $800 for a soft top and another X amount for tires.)

As for tires how are the stock wheels on the 2004? If not what are some good wheels? And also some good tires? I don't need crazy off road tires but I would like to go off road occasionally.

Thanks for your advice in advance

Depends on the area you are in? Check Jeeps in Utah that are in good shape are always more expensive, but in Detroit they are normally cheaper than in Utah.

2000 Sahara, 3.5" Rubicon Express Lift, 1" spring spacer & 1" Body Lift, 33" or 35" BFG Mud tires, Front & Rear ARB, Rancho 9000 shocks, UCF Ultra High Belly Up, Savvy gas tank skid.

For the area it might be in line.. however here in the OH/KY area.. I have seen 03' going for 12-13k with bit more miles.

Dealership buy or private?

Private, too much. Dealer, well deal with them a bit.

Sell the hard top (there is quite a market) you should be able to trade for a soft top or pay for it totally with a few bucks left over for the wheels/tires you want.
