Mine is my DD and i take it out every weekend. Some trips are roughter then others but i just keep up on fluid changes and inspections and most importantly set limtits for what ill do to her on the trail. Usually that means if i have a choice between an unsure possibly deep puddle and a tight narrow "fender scraper" by-pass i will usually choose the fender scraper since cahnces are ill be able to drive my jeep to work come monday rather then it sit swamped in the driveway.

2000 wrangler sport. 4.0 3 speed auto. DD

Is it your daily commuter Mon-Fri turned trail rig on weekends?

Mine is my only vehicle so I have drive it to work Mon-Fri but I take it off road at least once or twice a month. I try not to get too crazy with it, but you may be shocked at what a TJ can do with nothing but a mild lift and some nice tires.
I do plan to buy an old air cooled VW in a couple of years to have as a cheap second vehicle. It'll be cheap on gas, insurance and up keep while allowing me to do some more extensive mods to the TJ that could leave me without a vehicle for a day or two.

My Yj is my DD. So I can't beat her up. No other car for backup. I like trail riding nothing extreme. Even if it wasn't my DD I still wouldn't beat it up I don't like breaking my stuff!

My TJ is my daily driver and I wheel occasionally. I am not rock crawling or anything but I like to get out and into it when I can. I have my old 300D as my second car. No heat and slow as the day is long, but it always starts and for that reason I will always keep it. Plus right now diesel is the cheap gas...

The two primary reasons I originally got a TJ are because of where I live and where I like to go. My area can go from vacation land to a flood zone with downed trees pretty quickly. I like to be prepared. I also like to get away from civilization quite a bit and like that the Jeep can take me anywhere I want to go.
Folks loves us some Jeeps out here.

My TJ is my daily driver. I do not have an extra car so if I do mess it up, I'm out for a couple of days.

But I have gotten smart and kept a great lump of cash titled "jeep emergency funds" just in case it does end up in some trouble I'm not screwed over. Smart for a high school jeeper paying for everything on it.
