That top in particular is not meant to keep the weather out, just the wind from going down the road.

If you are looking to keep rain out, a Halftop is what you want. Bestop 53809-15 - Bestop® Halftop™ in Black Denim for 97-02 Jeep® Wrangler TJ with Factory Soft Top Hardware - Quadratec

Are you looking to ditch the rear stuff all together? If so, I'd say go for one of these.

Bump! That mini-pickup look is awesome. Can you share how you removed the roll cage?

I don't think that is his Jeep, just a stock picture. That's awesome looking though and it's an idea that I've had for a while! But sadly the Jeep Wrangler makes for a pathetic pickup truck That's on the stock website.

You still can have a 1/2 top. Just bolt the seat in the back and if it rains you kill 2 birds with 1 stone..... (you get to enjoy your 1/2 cab and the kids get their daily shower.) You could even bolt a shampoo dispenser to the rail.
