So after having the hood fly up on me going 60... (this is my first jeep) I now understand the importance about making sure the hood is latched before taking off. Anyway I picked up a after market hood and it all fits well except where the hinges go once I mount them on to the hood I can't get them back on to the main body so I'm curious if I might've bent these hinges and just need new ones for the new hood to fit properly thanks to all for the help this forum has been very helpful 97 jeep wrangler
I would but the holes are not matching up perfect so I might have to do some modifying to the latch for it to fit maybe take a drill press and put a I slot in the hinge so I can slide it up or down for correct fit. I was hoping maybe my hinge was just bent outta wack.
Okay thanks I'll order another set and hopefully they we'll fit flush the current ones are close but just a couple hairs off I know all the hinges I've seen on eBay have somewhat of a bend to them but my hinge seems to have a bit more serious one. What call name do you suggest and why should I change it? The holes on the body of the jeep seem fine to me there still squared up and do not appear to have any damage.
