Certainly not an '04-'06. They have the vents in the tailgate, not the top. Not sure exactly when that changed though.

i think just by looks you can only tell by the vents; on the TJ's they are longer (i think, i have never had a yj hardtop) can you check this? look at the picture and see if your YJ vents look smaller

just making sure it will fit a TJ, is there any hardware required to install? is it easy to get at home depot if he doesn’t have anything?

I bought hard doors top and new door skins for 175 and they are in great shape sometimes the tops are hard to find I would look around before you jump on that one 500 is a normal price I have seen are you just getting the top?
But price a new top and go from there 2k is close to buying a new one.

brand new mopar tops go for $2100 I think. Jus got to make sure its not warped and the seals are good. $900 would be pretty good I think. as for hardware you just need 6 bolts and wing nuts. 3 for each side to bolt to the jeep.

Oh and just so you are aware depending on what year jeep its going on you may need an adapter for the rear wiper and defrost harness. I got the same top and put it on my 06 and the plugs do not mate.

IIRC, didn't the windshield clamps change at some point?

make sure it has two clips like this for fastening the hard top front to the windshield, these should be connected to the top front underside of the hardtop

the hard top is secured with six (6) of these 6 point star screws, you need a special screw bit to screw these in, but its nothing you wont be able to find in home depot or lowes

and this is the nut that you need to screw those screws into. you will need 6 of these also. you can get these online like ebay or try off roading web sites. im not sure what you could use instead of these

also you may want to invest in a weather striping seal to seal the hard top from things such as rain entering the cab ( i have that problem, if you have carpeting it will start to smell so i scraped the carpet; and if you have electronics such as amps or caps for sound systems this may be dangerous)

If you decide not to buy it, let me know. I just bought a 2000 Wrangler and would love to get a hard top.

Yea, and no need to worry about the torq bolts and nuts. Normal bolts and wing nuts can save you from getting into the tool box when you want to take the top off.

Also, I again say it's a TJ top, but besides the length, don't the YJ tops have square vs round upper door openings?

Used hard tops are selling on CL here in Oklhahoma for around $1200. At least that's what they're advertising. For $900, there should be nothing wrong with the top and IMO, it's a pretty good deal.
Full hard doors around here are also selling for around $1000-1200 as well.

Its definately a TJ top, how ever I've looked around and 900 is pretty adverage for them some more some less.. If you did some looking you might be able to pick one up for several hundreds less.

The rear wiper is a clue that it's a factory Mopar top.

There may also be a dome light, and like adawg said, you might not have the exact same electrical connections, especially if your Jeep has never had a hard top. Not too hard to fix.

Weatherstripping is essential - not just for the weather, but for the noise when the body flexes against the top.

You can buy everything you need - bolts, optional clamps, weatherstripping - at a Jeep catalog store. But a camper store and hardware store should do the trick.

Yeah, it's right. Nice! Question though, is it just the pic or is it hanging off the back a bit? Maybe that's a shadow in the background? You've got the windshield latches clamped down... right?

Make sure your windshield is in the right position. If it is leaning back too much, it will shift the whole top back.
