I got lucky and will soon have "Old 97" as a vanity plate.... I was surprised that no one had already taken it.
There is a band named the Old 97s.

Well, when I bought it 6 weeks ago, I stuck the temporary name of "TJ" of "Teej" on mine. Obvious and not very creative, I know.

I have since started calling it "Donkeh" (as in Donkey from Shrek)

It seems to have a playful personality, seems durable, aint pretty but still loveable.

And it harkens back to the Mule predecessors of the army Jeep.

So fo now.... its "Donkeh" (always with a scottish accent...like Shrek)

I refer to mine as the NOTEMOBILE

I geocache a lot and one of my long rambling entries for a cache I found I referred to the vehicle I was in as the NOTEMOBILE seeing as my online handle was Cliff's Notes. So now that I have my own vehicle, and it also happens to be an awesome Jeep Wrangler I have named it so.

The NOTEMOBILE is my version of the BATMOBILE if Bruce Wayne wasn't rich, and instead of beating up bad guys drove around looking for Tupperware hidden in the woods.

We name all our vehicles. But I just got my Red ’97 TJ a couple of months ago and can’t find anything that fits yet. We have a little red Mazda RX8 and we call it Little Red. But I am not an Oklahoma University fan so I won’t allow my TJ to be called Big Red. The Lincoln Town Car was the Sled. My wife had a gold Land Rover Freelander that we couldn’t think of a name for till it was in the garage beside my Land Rover Discovery. So hers became Dinky and mine became Inky (it was black). My p/u ’77 4x4 Dodge short bed with a 440 and 12,ooo Ramsey became the Beast. A little white Mazda MX3 we had was the Skate. Her current car is a black Mazda 3 and called Molly. So depending on what era your from, it's either a fish or something else that people had fun with. And the Harley Softail is Slinky. So we DO name ALL of ours, but only with a name that fit’s.

My '71 DJ-5B is "Rosie" named by my wife, inspired by the AC/DC song "whole lotta Rosie"

Her truck was "delores" after the goofy cartoon where he's gonna wash duh-lorius and she's gonna look guh-lorius... (cause the truck was bigger than an elephant and harder to park)

The 2010 JK I traded delores for doesn't have a name yet... I think my wife is a little jealous...

"Cherry Pie" As it's bright red(with burnt crust, but the flaky brown mud covers it nicely), and the previous owner left a hair band CD in the CD player... guess what the first song was? :-D

Dang, hadn't even thought about it..... I've had my Jeep for about a month and a half now. When we were kids, my Pop's vehicles always had names.... The Batmobile, the Grey Ghost, The Bondomobile.... I don't know if it was when he got sick or when I started driving his old truck that it kinda transferred to me. I drove the Green Machine for a while and now I drive El Blanco my 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup. Don't know if I'll name the Jeep or if it'll come up with it's own like some of you have said, but it will be. :-) I *have* already mentioned Pepe, my little mule, to my son but that's already taken. LOL

Yea, my wife named it after a bunch of leaf and pine needle debris had collected in the heater box and the fan resistors started it smoldering, smoke was pouring out of the vents when I had the heater on. Now's it's called "old smokey".

I've owned my 2004 TJ Sport since new and for 6 years I never thought about naming her. I've always called her "The Jeep". My wife's Liberty has always been "The Liberty", as we all know there is only one Jeep.

I realize now that it doesn't reflect the personality of the vehicle, but the name has already stuck. My grand kids want to ride in "Pop's Jeep". The clincher is our little dog. He shows no reaction when I say to him "Let's go in the Liberty!", but when I say "Let's go in the Jeep!" he's all over himself with excitement and goes to the door of my Jeep waiting for me. My nickname for HIM is The Jeepster.

I drove a 3/4 ton Dodge extended cab longbed for over ten years which was silver. My wrangler is silver and I don't think is half as long as the Dodge, hence the the name....Shorty!

I've always just called it "The Jeep", but during the past month or two I have been leaning more towards "The Moneypit"

Well as the dogs name is karma, I guess the jeeps name should be dogma
