Does your soft top leak?

I was just wondering if others have issues with a leaky soft top. If so where is the leak and what kind of top do you have? I have one made by Softopper. It is a great, well made sailcloth top that I would buy again in a heartbeat. Love it and all windows are removable leaving a cool safari top. Mine leaks above both doors mostly on the passenger side. The door weather strip looks like it is in great shape (97). I've got to stop it from leaking or I'm affraid the wife will suggest we take the car to work. (We commute together). How did you get your leak to stop?

Ok, look CLOSELY at the top, front upper corner of the door weatherstrip. Where it meets the front edge of the top at the windshield pillar..

Mine leaks there because when I close the door, the top pushes the weatherstrip out instead of letting it tuck under. I just push it in with my fingertip and it stops the leaks.

OR, another thing I have found to be quite helpful is tub mats. Even if it does leak, it just pools into the tub, you use a rag to sop it up and you're all dry and ready to roll.

Tell your wife, Jeeps leak, they make noise, they drip oil and they are messy little beasties, it's just part of the joy of owning one.

Mine has gotten little wear and tears above the door, right above the rollbar. The previous owner tried putting a sealant on it and it works but there are other little tears in it that leak. Not a lot of make a puddle but a few little drops. Best thing is to get your top fixed. Take it to an upholstery shop and they can stitch any holes. But a cheap solution is putting super glue on it and every few hours, add more until it finally builds up.

Mine used to leak at the front corner where the top meets the window pillar. I ran a strip of VHB foam tape all the way down the column and no more leaks. I peel it off when I take the doors off and replace it in the fall. Works like a charm.
