Maybe i'm wrong, i grabbed the rotor after i took off the caliper and it didnt move or loosen. Maybe i should have wacked it with the dead blow. But seeing the center nut i assumed it was holding the rotor assembly. I didnt start investigating and figured id leave it for another day
You don't need to remove that big nut. Your rotors are partially seized on with rust. Get a BFH and take a couple of whacks at it...should break loose. Be sure not to hit your studs.
Forgot to add, when you put your new rotors on, wire brush and put anti-seize on where the rust was. Just be sure NOT to get any anti-seize on the rotor faces.
Spray penetrating oil around the hub and rotor and whack the back of the rotor with a BFH as you rotate them as long as your replacing them damage will not matter.
