Door Handle Flopping

So last night I opened the passenger side door and felt the handle pop. I thought for sure something broke. Rolled down the window (just in case) and tested it, works fine but it doesn't spring back in place, just kind of flops there.

Any ideas on what happened or how to fix it are appreciated.

Same thing happened to me today! Haven't had a chance to take the panel off yet but hoping I can fix it once I get inside. Would like to hear people's thoughts as well.

Been there done that, you will have to remove the interior door panel and it's easier if the window is out also, which means removing the window gasket and the plastic window sail. The window comes out pretty easy, otherwise it is a fight to access the handle.

The handle is held in by metal wedges that has steps in it and is tapped in between the door panel and the handle, see link part # 7

There is also a small spring retainer (not shown) that is flimsy.

Good luck
