Door problems/1998 Wrangler TJ

Does anyone know how to adjust a door on a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ Sport. my drivers side is out of alignment I guess and will not shut properly without slamming it really hard. This is tearing up the rubber door seal and is starting to damage the door itself.

Thank you,

Gary

You can try to loosen the Torx bolts, but be ready for them to strip the heads.
Once you get past that, close the door, and retighten the bolts.

Or if you are careful, open the door slightly, grab the bottom rear, and lift.

Read up on the Torx bolts using the search function, there are lots of tips on sometimes getting them loose. Or worse, drilling em out.

Or it could be time for new hinge bushings. You can tell by opening the door and grab it somewhere and try to rock the door on it's hinges. If it moves about and makes clunking noises there's a good chance the bushings are bad. And according to all the jeep dealerships near me it's not a part jeep sells anymore but they do exist on the web. Good luck
