doorless for the first time last night

dont know why i just always thought i would never take the doors off. maybe because of the nice armrest it created for my left elbow. well i just thought i would see what it looked like. i ended up taking it for a spin and what a blast. i just ordered mirror relocators at quadratec and they cant get here soon enough.

cool, yea its fun!

I hear those mirror locators, on the pass side could make using the mirror a bit difficult. (personally haven't tried them)

I know you say you ordered. But there are plenty of other, cheaper, simpler ways to add mirrors with the doors off. I made my own bracket. I'm sure you may have seen the many posts. Just thought i'd mention it..

take it for what its worth

I have the morror reloacators... they are a bit of a pain to use. my biggest complaint was having to adjust the pass mirror once you put the mirror on the reloacator, and then when you put it back on the door and it slips into the notches, you have to readjust it again.

I have a friend that bough bike mirrors that just go through the hinge hole.

Search on this forum for state laws regarding mirrors, many states only require that you have a rear view mirror and you would'nt even have to worry about the side mirrors.

I bought one at ORW for $10 and it bolted into the hole. I don't need a passenger mirror in CA as long as the rearview works and there is no tint on the rear "window".

I have the ones from quadratec and they suck. You can barely see out the pass mirror. I'm only planning on using for the summer and then putting them back for winter. I do love going doorless.

You're hooked!

Do yourself a favor and get yourself some hangers for the garage. I had the habit of leaving my door all over the place which lead to a lot of damage over time.

I have covers, hangers and bags for everything that can come off the Jeep.

Enjoy the ride!

Next you'll have to take a ride with the windshield down! Don't go to fast!

x2 ^ I have one harley mirror and its soo easy....i did do one thing to it though....tightening the mirror down it started to split the bushings inside the hinges, so i took it to a local metal shop and they welded a washer to the top so it doesnt hit the bushing anymore....was $10 but worth it!!!

Had my doors off once this year for the first time since I've had my Jeep (almost 3 years)

It was cool, but blew my hair back TO MUCH!! Actually, was more like it was feeling like it was going to blow my glasses off to much. They, the doors, won't be coming off again!!

Just the top off, is good enough for me.

You should get some of these mirrors, also on quadratec.
Rugged Ridge 44800/01 - Rugged Ridge Dual Mirror Set in Black for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with Soft Doors - Quadratec
Cheap too. I love mine.
They are attached permanently and you don't have to waste time with hinges or relocator brackets.
I tried relocator brackets but did not like them much...They functioned okay. I just don't like the look of factory mirrors.
