Not really too hard, all you have to do is take the nut off the bottom of the door hinge. (2 on each door) and then undo your limiting strap then pull up on the door. When i first took my doors off i was affraid to chip the paint on the nuts. But i guess thats the nature of the beast. Jeep should have never painted these. I dont even put them back on i just put the doors on and go. there is no way they could fly off!!!!!!!!!

The soft top, or the doors........lol. Just kidding......
The first time you take off the doors is a major Olympic event. If you have any lubricating spray, spray that on the hinges, and move the door back and forth, spray some more, move the doors back and forth, spray some more, repeat......get the picture? Then release the nylon strap from the inside of the Jeep, and with all your might, lift the door skyward, while moving it back and forth. Mine was a royal pain in the rear to get off. You can even put the nut back on the threaded part, and gently tap it with a hammer, but be very careful not to damage the side of your Jeep.

Once you get the doors off, take some axle grease, or any heavy grease, like that high temp red stuff, and lubricate the hell out of the hinges and pins on the doors. Make sure that you lightly sand off any rust on the door pins first. That way you will never have a problem taking them off again.

I just put the nuts on a good finger-tight; it looks a little better, and it's still real easy to put on, and they bind up enough not to fall out (or so has been my experience over the past few years).

Other than that; remove the nuts, strap, and give it a good yank. If it's not budging, make sure you're pulling STRAIGHT up since the hinge pins are a pretty precise fit. It can also help to swing the door while you're pulling up to 'walk' it out.

If you go with the spray lube method just a word of warning, pull up easy at first. My brother and I were pulling hard enough to lift the jeep, nothing budged, then we spray a little WD-40, work the door back an forth, go to grab it like before and BAM !!! whacked myself right in the head, the door came off so easy. When we did the other side we went easy and the doors slid right up and off. I put a smear of grease on them, worked it in, now I pull them off by myself no problem...
