For me, in my early fifties, I have to depend on my Jeep as a daily commuter vehicle, so I am a bit more trail-careful than some might be. I'm not independently wealthy, so I can't fix multiple items that could break on a rough trail.
I bought it for it's history, for it's looks, for it's longevity, and because I've wanted one since "The Rat Patrol" show in the 60's.
If I had no issues with $$$$$ , I'd buy myself an old WWII Willys, already restored. I'd drive it in the parades in town, on July 4th, and Memorial Day.
Relatively easy trails, trips to Florida (I'm in CT), and Ohio, back and forth to work.....that's enough for me.
It's just a thrill to take the top down and the doors off, and enjoy the ride!!

first thing I did was rip the carpet out that sum b!tch. A while back I rattlecanned the floor with Duplicolor truck bed liner and it's worked out great.
Get some mirror relocation brackets so you can roll without doors or just buy some mirrors that attach to the window frame.
Get a couple of tow hooks for the front bumper. I've never used mine but they look good. LOL!

If you haven't already, check out Lone Star Jeep Club - You're in Lewisville I'm in McKinney. We have over 400 members and always looking for more. Come to a club meeting or function and you can see first hand what people have done, see what works for people and what doesn't, ask plenty of questions, and come to our runs.
Remember to be yourself. Unless you suck.
Dont be a panty waist. Try and do some simple mods on your own and get to know your jeep. I like to call this forplay. (check on the boards before starting said project) Dont want ya trying to re-gear with a cresent wrench...lol
And dont turn around and sell it in a month or two. Its not a car... its not a truck... its a JEEP.. and now a family member
