Down shifting

Do y'all find with your 6cyl engines that say if you are driving in 5th gear on the freeway at 60-70 MPH and the road inclines at all you have to down shift to fourth or no matter how far you press to go pedal you lose speed never owned a Jeep before so am concerned my engine may have low compression or something

I have to downshift on the freeway all the time, but I'm seriously undergeared at the moment, so that makes 5th useless. I'll be moving from 3:73 to 4:56 soon to correct it.

I don't have really any problems on the freeway. I have 4:10 gears with 31" tires. Hopefully won't have a problem when I put 33's on.

It all depends on your tire size and what gearing you are running. 33 inch tires on 3.07 gears you will be downshifting. 4.56 gears and you are good to go.

4.10 - The 3.73s are for sale BTW.

4.10 is perfect for 33s with a 6 speed manual and I6. If you have auto or 5 speed then go 4.56 - 4 cyl go 4.88
