Drag link interchangeability?

Ill ask the question then give you the story, incase you dont care about the story.

I have a 97 Sport and I need a new drag link bar assembly. My friend has a 1994 XJ parts car will that one work? It will be FREE. He sent me pics and it looks the same but I havent seen it to measure it or check much out.

What else is useable? I tried checking sites, the part numbers are different but that doesnt mean they wont work. Some times like with the tie rod from ZJs they work but arent the same, and some times they are upgrades.

When it rains it pours and lately I cant catch a Fing break.

Today my wife and I were taking my 15 year old sister a base ball game for her birthday. We were leaving early to try and get there for batting practice and hopefully catch a ball, not to mention its Ryan Howards return game(and as a phillies fan, this year, Ill take any glimmer of hope I can). I was in the left lane of a 3 lane highway when a young new driver with a temp tag was moving right a long in front of me. We are traveling at about 50 mph approaching a signal light. The light turns yellow and we are plenty close enough to make it through, she never tapped her breaks or anything. I know this is what every one says but there really was NO hint she was going to stop, then all of the sudden right at the line...dead stop. I tried like hell to avoid her. The brakes locked up, tires screeched and I swerved HARD to the right. I ALMOST cleared her but the corner of my Smittybuilt SRC bumper and driver side tire caught her. Bumper is fine, Jeeps body is fine but some of the steering components not so much.

Her car...a lil Nissan Versa is in BAD shape. Tail light, rear hatch, rear panel all the way up to the roof is BAD. Im sure my insurance company is going to LOVE this. I wasnt issued a ticket partly due to the fact she admitted to the cops that she was going to go, thought shed make it and then last second backed out and braked hard.

After looking at Curries site (Im really trying to scrape together enough for this steering kit anyway) Im thinking it might work.

Same currie kit does both, that gives me hope. Im gonna need this to hold me over for a lil bit till I can get it.
