Driving Light versus Fog Light

I have searched but cannot find an answer for my question. I like the looks of the Hella 500 Black magic lights, but they only come in driving not fog.

1. Can the 500 Drivings be run continually at night, or do you turn them off like high beams for oncoming cars?

2. Are fog lights beneficial after doing the H4 conversion? Do you even know they are on?

Thanks

1.) I would assume...if they're 500w...you're gonna need to kick them off. If they're aimed low you may get away with it...but if I recall correctly, driving lights are supposed to be aimed straight ahead, right?

Easiest way to figure it out...drive with them on one night. If people flash their brights at you, they're too bright to leave on.

2.) Can't help ya.

IIRC a driving light is a cross between a "fog" light and a "spot" light .

I think driving lights are supposed to be more like additional high beams (aka flood lights)... basically to increase the distance you can see in front of you. Whereas fog lights are supposed to be aimed lower in order to increase your vision driving in dense fog (by shining on the road underneath the fog instead of reflecting back in your face).

I have the Hella Black Magic lights with 100w bulbs in each. I have them aimed straight so they do not blind people and wired through relays so I can use them with the high beams to flash someone with misaligned lights.

They really work well on dark unlit roads.
